U.S. States with Covid Travel Restrictions
Since many counties continue to either have closed borders to U.S. citizens or have a quarantine requirements for travelers (check out a list of countries whose borders are open to US travelers here), many U.S. travelers are looking at domestic travel options to get one family vacation out of the dwindling summer. But surprise…many states also have restrictions. While more than half of the states do not have restrictions, here is a list of U.S. states that are imposing Covid travel restrictions.
Alaska: Negative Covid test within 72 hours of departure or test at the airport and quarantine until results are in or 14-day quarantine
Connecticut: Coming from a state with a higher than 10% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days
Hawaii: Quarantine for 14-days
Illinois: Chicago only: If your state has more than 15 cases per 100,000 people, you must quarantine for 14-days
Kansas: People coming from Arizona, Florida, Aruba or a cruise ship or who have attended gatherings of more than 500 people may have to quarantine for 14-days.
Kentucky: Coming from a state with a higher than 15% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days
Maine: Negative Covid test within 72-hours of arrival or quarantine for 14-days except those coming from New England states.
Massachusetts: Negative Covid test within 72-hours of arrival or quarantine for 14-days.
New Hampshire: Quarantine for 14-days except those coming from New England states.
New Jersey: Coming from a state with a higher than 10% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days
New Mexico: Quarantine for 14-days
New York: Coming from a state with a higher than 10% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days
Ohio: Coming from a state with a higher than 15% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days
Pennsylvania: Coming from a state with a high positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days (list of high risk states can be found on their website)
Rhode Island: Coming from a state with a higher than 5% positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days or show proof of negative Covid test within 72 hours of arrival
Vermont: Quarantine for 14-days except those coming from New England states.
Washington DC: Coming from a state with a high positivity rate? You will be required to quarantine for 14-days (list of high risk states can be found on their website)
